Kumquat Sauce


  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 knob of ginger chopped ¼- inch-thick
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup Thinly sliced kumquats, (about 5 ounces)
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped out
  • 2 tablespoons Water


  1. Combine water, honey, sugar, ginger, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean and seeds.
  2. Bring to boil on high heat.
  3. Add kumquats and reduce to medium-low.
  4. Simmer for 40 minutes or until kumquats are translucent.
  5. Serve at room temperature or cold.
